Tidioute Borough residents are reminded that the Garbage Pick UP will be on Friday, September 10 this time due to Labor Day being on Monday.
Also, the trash bags are still heavier then the allowed weight of 35 pounds and if this continues, the bags will be left at the curb so please make sure the bags are not over the weight limit.
The annual One Pitch Softball Tournament will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
Sign up is Thursday, Sept. 9, at the Landmark Hotel at 7 p.m.
Cost is $125 per team.

Open air concert
Tidioute Community Charter School band and choir will host a concert in Picture Show Park on Saturday, September 22 at 6:30 p.m.
The public is invited to attend and enjoy the open air concert. Please bring a lawn chair.
Just a reminder that the Glenn McKown Memorial Bass Tournament will be held on Saturday.
Applications are available at Tidioute Trading Post and from Deb Genter, tournament director at 484-7407.
Weigh-in will be held from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tidioute Boat Launch.
Only smallmouth Bass caught on artificial bait are permitted with a limit of six fish and they must be brought to the scales in a water filled container.
Refreshments will be for sale at the weigh-in and the public is invited to come and watch as the fish are weighed and released back to the river.
Tidioute Girl Scout registration will be held on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Tidioute First United Methodist Church.
Annual registration fee is $12 per girl and there is financial assistance available.
Girl Scout Troop meeting for Junior and Cadets which is grades four through grade nine will be on Tuesday, September 14 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Tidioute First Methodist Church, please contact Jenn Hittie at 706-9398 for more information.

TCCS Shirt Sale
Orders are being taken for the Tidioute Community Charter School Fall Shirt Sale.
This sale benefits the Sports Programs at Tidioute Community Charter School.
There are order blanks in the "Bulldog Bark" at local businesses and at Northwest Savings Bank. Items available this year will suit any taste. Hoodies, T-shirts, and a denim shirt are available. Hoodies and t-shirts are available in a variety of colors including two choices of tye-dye.
All orders are to be pre-paid and please if unsure of your size, please order the next larger size as items can not be returned.
Deadline for orders is Sept. 30.

Funnel cake booth
The First United Methodist Church will have their funnel cake booth open for Fishing Tournament weekend starting Thursday, Sept. 23 and running till Sunday, September 26.
Workers are needed to help in the booth and if you are available and would like to help please contact Mary Huntington at 484-7766, if no answer please leave a message.
Also, there is a sign up sheet at the church for items needed to make those famous funnel cakes.
Sunday school starts
Tidioute First United Methodist Church Sunday School will begin on Sunday, September 12 at 12:30 following worship services.
Those wishing to attend should be there by 12:15.

Friday, Sept. 17 there will be a dance from 7 p.m till 10 p.m. at the Tidioute Charter School for grades seven through twelve and those seniors from the class of 2010.
Your yearbooks will be distributed at the dance and in school on Monday, September 20.
Extra yearbooks will be available for a cost of $30 each.

Thunder In The Hoot
The Fifth Annual Thunder In The Hoot Dice Run will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010
Registration will be held from 10 a.m. till 12 noon at the Tidioute Community Charter School.
Cost is $10 per bike and $5 for an additional rider.
Food and live entertainment, music will be provided by Matt LaLoff and the Contraband and door prizes will be awarded following the run at the Tidioute Hotel. Prizes for the highest rill and lowest rolls will also be awarded at that time.

Fall gun raffle
Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department will hold their Annual Fall Gun Raffle on Saturday, November 28 at the firehall.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and games begin at 7 p.m.
The kitchen will be open.
A new form of sound will be used so you will hear the callers/announcers much better this year.
Tickets are on sale from local merchants and local firefighters.
This year the parade theme for the Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament is, "Cultures of the World".
Line up is at 11 a.m. and the parade starts at 12 noon sharp.
There is no entry fee for this parade.

Arts and Craft Show
All crafters are encouraged to contact Marty Bennett at 484-7372 for table space for the Arts and Crafts Show to be held in conjunction with the Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Tidioute Firehall.

Pre-sale carnival tickets
Now is the time to purchase your presale tickets for the Carnival that is set for Thursday, Sept. 23, though Sunday, Sept. 26.
Rides are being provided by Trowver of Gibsonton, Florida.
When you purchase your carnival tickets in advance you receive a chance for a bicycle.
A Kids Fishing Derby will be held on Saturday, September 25 from 9 a.m. till 11 a.m. at Benner Park. This is for ages three to age ten.
This is a community sponsored event that is sponsored by Tidioute Lions Club and Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament Committee.
This is a free fishing derby and prizes will be awarded to the winners.
Committee members include Ann Jones, Dan McLaughlin and Dick Bartges.
Junior Champion Angler
The Junior Champion Angler will be crowned on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 9 p.m.
The winner will receive a $50 US Savings Bond that is donated by Jim and Betty Marshall, there is a rather large trophy that is donated by the George Jones Memorial Walleye Tournament Committee and the Jones Family and they receive other gifts as well.
The Champion Angler of the 2010 Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament will receive $1000 and a beautiful trophy along with other gifts. Second Place winner will receive $250 and a trophy and prizes and Third Place winner will receive $150 a trophy and other gifts.
Grand Prize Drawing
This year the Grand Prize drawing of the Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament will be for a 32 inch Flat screen TV and the second place prize will be for one pack of 60 $5 instant PA lottery tickets.
The drawing will be held on Sunday, September 26 at 3 p.m.
Paving of the parking lot at Tidioute Area Medical and Dental Center has been completed by Huber Blacktopping of Warren.
Chris Darling of Darlings Pharmacy has placed his sign in front of the pharmacy.
Work is progressing along quite rapidly and the building will soon be occupied by the doctors, dentist and pharmacist.
Student activity meeting
The Student Activities Committee will meet on Tuesday, September 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the library.
All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
They will be discussing fundraisers and events for the school year.
Tidioute Community Charter School skating party at the Rink in Titusville will be held on Thursday, Sept. 30, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Cost is $2.50 per person, $6 per family and $1.50 per skate rental. This is open to the public.
The girls will play home on Sept. 9 against Girard Alliance at 4:30 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 13, against Erie First Christian at 4:30pm.
Tall Ships in Erie
The fourth and fifth grade will be traveling to Erie Pennsylvania on Friday to see the tall ships. The Brig Niagara is returning to Erie from a summer-long voyage with five other sailing ships. The students will have the opportunity to board two ships and also visit the Maritime Museum. The Student Activities Committee is providing this trip for the students.
