Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert William Roys of Silver Spring, Md., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 10, 2010, with a buffet dinner for 20 at her family home near Russell. Mrs. Roys, formerly June Young, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Gleason. Mr. Roys is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Roys of Lansing, Mich.
June and Gil were married in the Takoma Park Seventh-day Adventist Church by Leslie R. Mansell. She is a retired elementary school teacher and reading specialist. Mr. Roys is a builder and an avid golfer.
The couple has two children. Their daughter, Robin Roys McWilliams, is a professional harpist in the Washington, D.C., area. Their son, Craig, is a builder and lives in the Frederick, Md., area.
