The Boonies International, an Independent Film Festival at Warren, PA announces its first annual Sportsman's Film Festival, to be held Saturday, October 2 and Sunday, October 3, 2010.
Submissions for this event are now being accepted. All entries must be created and produced by amateur filmmakers and must pertain to hunting, fishing or wildlife observation. Film categories include: Firearm Hunting (rifle, flintlock, etc.), Bow Hunting (compound, curved, cross, traditional, etc.), Freshwater Fishing, Salt Water Fishing, Conservation / Wildlife Observation, and Grizzly Gary Humorous category.
Cash and/or prizes will be awarded for each category. Event sponsor Grizzly Gary Outdoors has donated a special $1,000 award for 1st place in the Most Humorous Amateur Film category.
Films will be judged by a jury of peers and professionals, with winners announced on Sunday, October 3, 2010. Jurists will be announced in the near future.
Like its parent organization The Boonies International, the Sportsman's Film Festival is open to films created in Northwestern Pennsylvania and around the world. Filmmakers of all ages are encouraged to submit their work.

The Sportsman's Film Festival is a fundraising event for the benefit of The Boonies International, a non-profit organization whose mission is to support, educate and promote independent filmmakers of all ages, as well as promote Northwestern Pennsylvania's location and natural resources to the film industry.
The inaugural Boonies International Film Festival will present film, music, technology and other art mediums and will take place in Warren August 17-20, 2011.
