AUBURN, N.Y. - Jamestown moved into a tie for first place in the Pinckney Division with Williamsport after the Jammers held on for an 11-8 road win over Auburn on Monday.
The Jammers (21-15) scored three runs in the fourth and five in the fifth, but proved to need their three-run eighth inning to hold on in the New York Penn League. Auburn plated six runs in the bottom of the eighth to make it a game.
Dallas Hord and Marcell Ozuna had three hits each for the Jammers, who return home to host Mahoning Valley on Wednesday night, and teammates Noah Perio, Aaron Dudley, Harold Brantley and James Wooster added two hits each in the 15-hit attack.
Rett Varner threw five scoreless innings for his first win as a Jammer.
