Zona M. Swanson, 92, of 205 Water Street and formerly of 310 Canterbury Ct, Warren, PA, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2010 at the Warren General Hospital.
Mrs. Swanson was born February 23, 1918, in Russell, the daughter of the late Myrl and Rozella Collins Wright. Zona was a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was a former secretary. She was a very encouraging and inspirational woman to many, and always made room for family and friends. Zona always had a positive attitude and loved to laugh; she especially enjoyed her family, children and grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Klark and her husband Edward of Warren; three sons, David Swanson and his wife Marti of Warren, Cecil Swanson and his wife Lorraine of Jamestown, N.Y., and Charles Swanson and his wife Laura of Warren; eight grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death on November 24, 1991 by her husband of forty three years, Iver Swanson; a son, Loren Swanson in 1978, three sisters, Ada Edwards, Marvel Howard, and Prudence English; and by one brother, Harvey Wright, and a granddaughter, Melissa H. Jackson.
Friends may call at the Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Wednesday, June 30, from 68 p.m. and for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held there on Thursday July 1, at 11:00 a.m. with Lynn E. Gatz, pastor, Seventh Day Adventist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, Pa.
