Deerfield Township
The Deerfield Township had their regular monthly meeting on Monday, June 14, 2010.
There were a few items the citizens of the township should be informed about.
The Township has accepted the bid from Russell Standard to apply MC70 oil on the township roads to implement a dust control program. The tentative date of June 29, 2010 will begin the application of the oil in the Althom Road area. Signs are to be posted prior to the oiling of the road and the road may be closed for a period during this time.
Work will continue on the remaining roads in the township the following week. The oil will be spread 50 feet in front of every residence, camp and before stop signs within the township.
Residents wanting additional oil and grit may purchase the material directly from the township, at the township cost, but must be paid for prior to the application of any material exceeding the 50 feet.
Residents may call the township building at 484-3051 and leave a message of request.
The township has also submitted four grant requests to the state for work to be done in the areas of McGee Run, Thompson Run, Fern Hollow and the Youngsville Road.
Sign Missing
Tidioute Area Health and Dental Center committee members are searching for the sign with the thermometer on it that was being used to chart the progress of the fund raising efforts.
If you know where this 4 by 8 sheet sign made of plywood, white back ground and black lettering and of course a red thermometer on it is please contact Bob Schwab at 484-3058 or any of the other committee members.
Your co-operation in finding this sign is greatly appreciated.
Health Center Update
The Tidioute Area Health and Dental Center is in its third and final phase of its fund raising drive. The project is coming along as scheduled. The interior is being finished and the exterior rough grading is about complete.
Bids are out for the asphalt/cement parking lot.
Yes things are taking shape. The project at the present time is at approximately 80% of its financial goal of $790,000 and $150,000 is needed to complete the financing of the project. This shortfall is the result of the Tidioute Health and Dental Center Committee having to refuse the Federal Grant of $350,000 because of the restrictions and requirements that were required to qualify for this Federal grant. You may contact any committee member for further explanation of this refusal.
The building is a great addition to the Tidioute Area. Not only in its pleasing appearance but a much needed medical/dental service. The Center will be staffed and maintained by Warren General Hospital.
The fund raising committee will be sending out requests for donations or three (3) year pledges to individuals, businesses, alumni, government agencies, foundations and etc.
Donation cards maybe picked up at the following business:Polly's ShurSave Market, Tidioute Trading Post, Tidioute True Value Hardware, and Buccardo's Restaurant.
The Tidioute Area Health and Dental Center committee would ask that everyone, please consider going that extra mile and donating to this very worthy cause.
