Several local students were named to the dean's list at Slippery Rock University for the fall term:

Jamestown Business College has announced the president's list for the winter 2009 term. To qualify, a student must earn a 3.90 - 4.00 grade point average for a term. Students from the Warren area: Carrie A. Campbell, Warren; Linnea C. Campbell, Warren; Elyse N. Clement, Pittsfield; Danielle R. Fohrd, Youngsville; Amy Gustafson, Warren; Lois M. Heffner, Warren; Ashley M. Horner, Youngsville; Patrick L. Jordan, Warren; David R. Ludwig, Warren; Tiffany M. Morgan, Warren; Tasha N. Savko, Russell; Linda L. Sobina, Warren; Jared W. Strickland, Russell; and James S. Wilson, Russell.

Laura G. Price, daughter of Keith and Cindy Price of Warren, has been named to the dean's list at Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Mich. To be named to the list, a student must earn a grade average of 3.5 or better. A senior at Calvin, Price is an engineering major with a civil concentration. She graduated from Warren Area High School. Price is applying to graduate schools to earn a master's degree in environmental engineering.

Laura R. Patterson, daughter of Todd and Dr. Kathleen Patterson, Tidioute, has earned honors as a junior at Phillips Exeter Academy, Exeter, N.H., for the fall 2009 term.

Hana Bakalli has been named a University Scholar at the University of Pittsburgh, indicating she is in the top two percent in cumulative undergraduate academic standing. She was recognized at the annual honors convocation and received a citation on Feb. 26. Bakalli is working toward a bachelor of science degree with majors in neuroscience and psychology and a minor in chemistry and expects to graduate in December 2010 from the School of Arts & Sciences. She has been named to the dean's list for several semesters and maintains a grade average of 3.99.
