Super Bowl Soups
The Super Bowl Soup Sales at the Tidioute First United Methodist Church will be held on Sunday, Feb. 7, from noon till they are all sold out.
So far the soups that will be served are: ham and lima Bean, chili, chicken noodle, vegetable beef.

District 19’s Winner

Cost will be $4 for a 16-ounce container and $4.50 for a 20-ounce container.
You can eat in for $5 and receive a bowl of soup along with crackers, dessert and beverage. Or you can do the take out.

Lions Club
The Tidioute Lions Club had the privilege of having Carol Jenkins, assistant recruiter for the 2010 Census, speak to them at their dinner meeting on Tuesday evening.
Carol is interested in recruiting people for jobs for the U. S. Census Bureau for our area. If you are interested, please call the Erie census office at 814-314-2160 to be scheduled for the basic test required for employment.
Testing sites are at the Tidioute Fire Hall on Thursdays at 6 p.m., Saturdays at 10 a..m. and they are also at the Triumph Municipal building on Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
Walk-ins are also welcome.
New members
The Tidioute Lions Club is launching a new members campaign.
Anyone, women or men, age 18 or older interested in joining the Tidioute Lions Club should contact Carmen Fedele at 484-7758 or Betty Marshall at 484-5095.
The Lions meet weekly at the recycling center for recycling items and once a month for dinner, usually in a local church or restaurant.
Proceeds from the recycling project goes into the community.
If interested in serving or if you have any questions, please give them a call.

Mr. and Mrs. Brian Ohler and family would like to thank Ben Hittie and Jay Sutton for being the first responders to their roof fire on Friday, Jan. 22.
Without their immediate assistance prior to the arrival of Tidioute, Grand Valley and Garland Fire Departments their home would have been a complete loss.
The home suffered fire damage to one third of the roof and water damage throughout the house.
Ohlers are currently living their daughter, Jennifer Hittie.
Kings Building Supply and Northwest Savings Bank of Tidioute will be accepting monetary donations from anyone who wishes to assist the family with necessary material and supply expenses to reconstruct the damages done to the home.
Mid-Winter Conference
This past week members from District 19 and members of the Ladies Auxiliary of Post 8803 in Tidioute attended a mid-winter conference in Gettysburg, PA.
The winning post and district entries for the Voice of Democracy essay were judged state wide.
Fran and Hank Stoneburg, co Chairpersons for the Voice of democracy along with Barb Downey-president of the ladies auxiliary Post 8803, Dan Edmiston-District 19 Commander, Jackie Edmiston, Sue Smith, Doris Svitek and Bill Littlefield attended the conference.
District 19's entry was Selese Huth a student at West Forest High School.
There were 24 District winners and Selese placed sixth.
Memorial Day List
The VFW Post 8803 is still working on the updating of the list of names for Memorial Day.
If you have any additions, deletions or corrections, please contact them by March 31 so that they can have it corrected by Memorial Day.

Dan Smith Candies
Members of the Good Shepherd Circle of the Tidioute First United Methodist Church are taking orders for Dan Smith Candy.
Contact any of the following: Mary Huntington, Jean Kitelinger, Linda Scott, Jane McManigle, Meg Froman, Janet Waine, Beulah McAfoose and Autumn Bupp.
Orders are due by Feb. 21 and delivery is set for March 9.
Girl Scout cookies
Tidioute Girl Scout Troops are currently taking orders for their famous cookies at a cost of $3.50 per box.
If you would like to order cookies and no one has approached you yet you can contact Lisha Bupp, girl Scout Ambassador at 484-2292 and she will gladly take your order.
Orders are due by Friday, January 29, 2010.
Tidioute Health Fair
Marty Bennett is now taking appointments for the Tidioute Health set for Saturday, March 27, beginning at 7 a.m. and ending at noon.
There is a 12-hour fast required for these comprehensive blood tests.
Blood will be drawn by members of the Warren General Medical Staff and light breakfast will be provided following the testing.
Several other tests will be preformed that are free to those who are attending and there will be several groups set up with information concerning health care in all aspects so please be sure to check out all the stations that are set up.
This all takes place in the Tidioute Firehall and is sponsored by Warren General Hospital in cooperation with Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department.

Box tops
Tidioute Community Charter School is still collecting Box Tops for Education this year. There goal is to collect 15% more than last year.

Campbell soup labels
Tidioute Community Charter School is collecting Campbell soup labels for education.
All you need to do is cut out the UPC symbol and send it to the Tidioute Community Charter School, 241 Main ST, Tidioute, PA 16351.
There goal is to collect 100 more labels than last year.
Your participation in this program is greatly appreciated.
Salvation Army meeting
Members of the Tidioute Unit for the Salvation Army met at the Tippy Canoe on Monday evening to discuss the past year of activities for the Tidioute Unit.
TEFAP Food Assistance better known as State Commodities was the main topic for the evening.
A new site for delivery and pick up was discussed and for the month of February the food will be delivered to the Tidioute First United Methodist on Monday, February 22 and pick up will be on Tuesday, February 23 from 10 a.m. till 12 noon, and those receiving the food will come to the church to pick it up.
More details will be announced later as they become available.
Jeri Higgins with the help of Pastor Dennis Lawton will be putting the finishing touches on this program, which was formerly set up at the Tidioute Towers.
