Gaza and Israel

POSTED: January 4, 2010

Dear editor:

My reply is to the "Attack on Gaza" letter that appeared in your column in the Dec. 30 issue.

To concur with Justice Richard Goldstein's comment that Israel was guilty of war crimes is blindly endorsing the slaughter of innocent Israeli men, women and children over the last several decades by Yasser Arafat and his PLO and othyer "Palestinian" groups. This is absurd.

Where was this outcry when Hezbollah was lobbing rockets into civilian areas three years ago? Where are the cries of cease and desist when homicide bombers laden with explosives enter Jewish civilian centers?

I clearly remember the cries from liberals when Israel went into Lebanon after Hezbollah. Israel was accused of "over-reacting." To deny Israel any pre-emptive military action would be the same as denying us any moves against the terror threat aimed at the United States today.

The only "peace" that Muslim extremists want with Israel is that of their extinction.

There is ample historical evidence of over 1400 years of Islamic hatred for the Jewish people. One only needs to take time to listen to the anti-semitic rants from the Iranian president.

Israel and this land belong to God and His chosen people. The Bible is very clear on this. God gave Israel to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and their descendants forever. And through Ishmael was a physical descendant of Abraham, he was not chosen (Romans 9:8).

A reading of the Quran, especially the book of Surah, reveals Islam's attitude toward Christians and Jews (Pagans). Israel has a right to exist and to defend their people. Just as we do. "...I will bless them that bless thee (Israel), and curse him that curseth thee..." God, Genesis 12:3.

I'm not placing that label on all who are involved with "the church." Only those that are, in fact, self-righteous blowhards. Okay, I can see what you are talking about - and I have experienced these people in "church". However, you didn't clarify how you looked at yourself - what do you consider yourself to be ? - in light of some being self-righteous blowhards within the church.

If you are placing a label of "self righteous" on people within the church then how do you view yourself ?

The author of the Dec 30 letter failed to mention that the investigation concluded both sides were guilty, but the UN completely ignored the complaint against Hamas and mad Israel the only bad guy. They will do the same thing to the USA when given the chance.

a few posts back you made a comment concerning "self righteousness" being a despicable character trait - care to explain? A big fan of God - in what way? thanks for taking the time to comment.

painful-don't forget the women who take great pride in hurrying along their children to be shields then wail and moan like actual humans when the kid is killed. They just dance when a Je wish kid is killed. Remember the coverage in Iraq with the woman and children standing in front of a mosque holding insurgents? Same mentality.

Interesting read... Backwoods

Weird though... the IDF stands in front of the Hebrew children to protect them from being fired upon by the pigs known as Hamas. The IDF soldiers giving up their own lives to protect children from being murdered.

As Jesus (Yeshua) did to show his love for others. In the Word of GOD, the G-d of Abraham, the G-d of Isaac, and the G-d of Jacob states that there is no greater love than one who gives up their life for others.

Not like some rottening smelling disease religion that the Hamas follows. Stand like a man and fight

If you want to follow that... to h e l l you shall go.

( Continue - Hamas Strategy in Gaza )

The calculated, cynical use of the civilian population as human shields in intended…to make it possible for Hamas and the other terrorist organizations to make political-propaganda gains in the battle for hearts and minds by representing Israel as operating against innocent civilians.”

Under international as well as domestic law, those who use human shields are responsible for their predictable deaths, not those who fired the fatal shots. Consider the case of a bank robber who takes a hostage and fires from behind his human shield, killing and endangering bystanders; a policeman, in an effort to stop the robber from killing more innocent people, fires at him but kills his hostage by accident. Who is guilty of murder? Not the policeman, who fired the fatal shot, but the robber who fired from behind the human shield. The same is true under international law.

( Hamas Strategy in Gaza )

A just-released report by the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center in Israel documents the Hamas double war crime strategy of targeting Israeli civilians by firing rockets from schools, mosques and homes and using Palestinian civilians as human shields. The report proves that Hamas

“makes extensive use of use of Palestinian civilians as human shields. [T]he terrorist organizations constructed a vast military infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, including a large arsenal of rocket and mortar shells used to target the southern Israeli population (in 2001-2008 more than 8,000 rockets and mortar shell were fired into populated Israeli areas). The terrorists’ military infrastructure was hidden in and around civilian homes and dispersed to locations scattered around the Gaza Strip…

SKDoosh - so, here's the next question - how do you view the Bible, God,Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit ? I'm not asking about denominationalism(s) just the above 4 subjects

Writer10 - so, if there are people today that claim to have heard God's voice and have seen/had encounters with angels (as myself with both cases) how are they going to be proven fake or in some cases proven legitimate. I can never convince anybody of what I've seen or experinced. I could have credentials after my name Phd or Rev in front of my name and it couldn't be proved either way. It's just several experinces I've been thru. All I have to back myself up is my word and honor.

SkDoosh - I take it that you do not believe in present day enconters with and of angelic beings ? that's certainly your choice. Just curious about what you think.

No longer any sightings of angels? says who? - how far back do you go back for no sightings. As scripture says " we entertain angels unaware". I have had personal encounters with anels - so has my son and so has my father. would you care to hear my about our encounters?

Hamas are not a peaceful group of people. Even the Fatah are scared of them.

As for offending them... let me start a list.

As a side note, Thomas Paine stated the following "He who dares not offend can not be honest."

This means that the truth hurts.

Time for me to work on that list.
