GIRLS HOOPS: White leads Lady Knights over Owls
Eisenhower's girls basketball team heads into the new year in the win column, defeating Class AAA Bradford, 54-30, Wednesday afternoon at Eisenhower High School.
After getting beat on Monday by Corry in the championship game of the Corry Holiday Tournament, the Class A Lady Knights found a new hot hand in an otherwise inconsistent past few games.
Ashley White.
The senior's career-high 17 points, including four 3-pointers, led an Ike team that had 13 players see minutes.
Ike head coach Dave Allenson said the Knights, which are 6-2 overall, have several players capable of hitting their shots, they just haven't been doing it all at once.
In a rare early-afternoon start, White hit three 3-pointers in a 14-7 third quarter for Eisenhower, which next hosts Chandler Moore and Girard Monday in Region 4 play.
Megan Stanton had two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and finished with 11 points. Stef Santo and Emma West had four rebounds each for Ike.

Otto-Eldred Tournament
Consolation Game
Sheffield 31, Oswayo Valley 25
DUKE CENTER - Sheffield settled for a consolation prize in the Otto-Eldred Tournament - a win in the consolation game.
The Wolverines shook off a blowout loss to Kane on Tuesday and rebounded for a 31-25 victory over Oswayo Valley Wednesday in Duke Center.
Rebounding was especially key for Sheffield in the victory as three girls all finished with 10 boards apiece namely Abby Berlin, Caryn Copley and Kayla Steffan.
Copley led all scorers with nine points, Amber Morrison and Kristie Steffan added eight each and Berlin chipped in five.
"Our foul shooting was pretty bad today, but we got away with it," said Sheffield coach Mike Bancroft. "A win is a win and improving to 3-4 is nice, but we've got a bunch of small things that we need to improve on if we can't to stay competitive and keep winning."
The Wolverines have a tough week coming up with games on Thursday and Friday against recent PIAA qualifiers in West Forest and Elk County Catholic.
Both games are at Sheffield High School.
