Doris M. Kreitzbender, 65, of State Highway 77, Spartansburg, Pa., died on Monday, December 28, 2009 at her home.
She was born in Corry, Pa on December 19, 1944, a daughter of the late Virgil and Lottie M. Sutton Nichols.
Mrs. Kreitzbenter was raised and educated in East Branch and attended Corry High School. Following high school, she enjoyed being a military wife and traveling in the south with her children's father, Robert Kreitzbender, and raising her family. Her main priority was raising and caring for her family. She owned and operated the Blue Eye Inn in Garland for over nine years. She then worked for Raymond Mfg., (Associated Spring BarnesGroup, WalMart and then for SaveALot all in Corry, Pa. She enjoyed cooking and going to the Casino with her best friend, Charlene Berry. She also enjoyed bingo, square dancing and making outfits for her family. She was strong in her faith.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her biological father.
Mrs. Kreitzbender is survived by two daughters, Kimberly A. Gould and her husband, Richard, of Erie, Pa and Crystal Kreitzbender and Frank J. Pikutis of Spring Creek, Pa; by a son, Bobby Kreitzbender and his wife, Karen, of Southport, NC.; by two sisters, Nancy Grinder and her husband, Jeff, of Spartansburg, Pa and Lottie Jaggi of Corry, Pa, by three brothers, Jim Powell and his wife, Lorraine, of Spring Creek, Pa, Virgil Nichols and his wife, Vicki, of Conneaut Lake, Pa and Bill Powell of Spartansburg, Pa.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Amy Merryman and her husband, Danny, Ashley Carlson, Destin Zock, Bobby Kreitzbender, Jr, Kyle Wolfe and Joselyn Kreitzbender, by two great grandchildren, Noah Merryman and Devin Kreitzbender and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a funeral service there on Thursday at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Spartansburg, Pa.
