Warren
Charged. Warren City police on Wednesday charged Brenda Knisley, 33, 217 Horton Ave., Sheffield, with theft by deception. According to police, Knisley had a Warren Taxi Co. vehicle transport her to the Warren County Courthouse on Dec. 18 for sentence court. Police said Knisley failed to pay the fare by telling the taxi driver that another family member would be paying it.
Charged. Warren City police took Brandy Freeman, 18, 229 Pennsylvania Ave. W., Apt. 2, into custody at her residence at 11:06 a.m. Wednesday and charged her with hindering apprehension. According to police, Freeman hindered the apprehension of Steven Gaddy, who she knew faced a felony warrant for his arrest. Police said Gaddy was also taken into custody at the residence and both were arraigned before District Justice Arthur Zerbe and then remanded to the Warren County Jail.
Conewango Twp.
Retail theft. Warren-based state police charged a 19-year-old Warren male and a 17-year-old Clarendon male with retail theft after they were caught by Wal-Mart security personnel taking motion sickness pills out of a bottle and discarding it in another aisle at 6:05 p.m. Dec. 19. According to police, the male from Clarendon had also placed two doughnuts and a honeybun in his pocket.
Retail theft. Conewango Township police reported Dana L. Greenlee, 22, Depot St., West Hickory, and Nichole L. Worley, 25, Route 127, West Hickory, were stopped outside of Wal-Mart by Wal-mart security personnel and the Conewango Township police and charged with retail theft on Dec. 22. According to police, Greenlee was cited for retail theft for under $50 worth of items while Worley was charged with concealing $150 worth of items underneath clothing she had placed over the items in a shopping cart as she went through the checkout.
Pine Grove Twp.
Crash. Warren-based state police reported Phyllis J. Edminston, 60, Warren, was driving a 2000 Plymouth Neon northbound on S. Main St. while James T. Kestler, 59, Kennedy, N.Y., was driving a 1997 Ford Explorer southbound at 9:55 a.m. Dec. 22. According to police, Edminston lost control while negotiating a right curve and slid across the center line. Police reported Kestler drove off the road to attempt to avoid the crash, but the Neon hit the driver's side of the Explorer. According to police, the Neon stopped in the southbound lane facing north and the Explorer stopped off the west side of the highway facing south. Police reported Edminston was charged with driving too fast for conditions.
Triumph Twp.
Crash. Warren-based state police reported Trever A. Owens, 33, Girard, was driving a 2008 GMC Yukon north on Youngsville Road when he lost control while negotiating a left curve. According to police, the Yukon spun counterclockwise leaving the southbound lane, and striking a tree. Police reported the Yukon was towed from the scene. Owens told police that he was wearing his seatbelt. According to police, charges are pending in district court.
Clarendon
Theft. Warren-based state police reported Clarence Edward Mott, 20, Clarendon, was arrested for theft by unlawful taking after he took an iPod Nano from David Durstine, Clarendon, on Brown Ave. at 8:12 p.m. between Dec. 14 and 19. According to police, the value of the iPod Nano was approximately $150.
Youngsville
Disorderly conduct. Youngsville Borough police reported a juvenile, 17, has been charged with disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and harassment following an incident at Youngsville High School. According to police, a petition has been filed with Juvenile Probation.
