Payton Mineweaser, a fourth-grade student at Russell Elementary School, was awarded second place in the AMVETS Against Drug and Alcohol Abuse (AADAA) contest at the AMVETS National Convention in New Orleans, La. The contests are held throughout the country educating children about drug and alcohol use. Mineweaser was presented with a bond and certificate She is the daughter of Don and Krista Mineweaser of Russell.
