Barbie Powell and Evan Sockaci have announced their engagement. She is the daughter of Rick and Trudy Powell of Kane. He is the son of Ted and Debbie Sockaci of Fombell, Pa.
The bride-to-be is a 2001 graduate of Kane Area High School and a 2004 graduate of Penn State Universitywith a degree in finance. She is employed by Liberty Mutal Insurance as an appraiser. Her fiance is a 2001 graduate of Riverside High School and a 2005 graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology with a construction management degree. He is employed by Brayman Construction Corporation as a project engineer.
An Aug. 21, 2010, wedding is planned.
