Air Force Airman Derrick L. Swihart graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is the son of Saundra and stepson of James Hamilton of Pine Ridge Road, Sugar Grove, Pa.

Swihart is a 2008 graduate of Eisenhower High School, Russell, Pa.

Army National Guard Pfc. Darrell J. Galletta has returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Operation Iraqi Freedom is the official name given to military operations involving members of the U.S. armed forces and coalition forces participating in efforts to free and secure Iraq. Mission objectives focus on force protection, peacekeeping, stabilization, security and counter-insurgency operations as the Iraqi transitional governing bodies assume full sovereign powers to govern the peoples of Iraq.

Galletta, an infantryman with two years of military service, is normally assigned to the 1st Battalion, 112th Infantry Regiment, 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Cambridge Springs, Pa.

He is the son of Darrell J. and MaryBeth Galletta of Church St., Warren, Pa.

The private is a 2007 graduate of Eisenhower High School, Russell, Pa.

Air Force Airman Andrew P. Nosko graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Philip Nosko of Route 27, Grand Valley, Pa., and Julie Lamberson of Old Route 322, Utica, Pa.

Nosko is a 2006 graduate of Titusville High School, Pa.

Well said MilitaryWife. I retired in 1997 from Minot AFB, ND and still live here. Lived in Warren until 1976. I dont know any of those listed here but, all of you are my heros! Do the best you can, get your education, and make a career of it!

Congratulations ! I know his family are proud. I hope all our service men and women know they are appreciated! My husbands family doesnt send him a card or a care package when he is deployed, THEIR LOSS AND PAIN!
