Sheffield's wasting little time in getting this season off to a red hot start.
One day after defeating Kane, the Wolverines returned home and logged five pins in a quick 45-18 victory over Oswayo Valley at Sheffield Area High School.
"It's been a great start to the season with us getting two wins in two days," said Sheffield coach Bryan Gould. "Tyler (Brisson) and Dylan (Smith) are back in our program this season and got big wins tonight and Eric (Perry) picked us his first win of the year for us."
The first four weight classes flew by as the Wolverines started off with a 12-0 lead. Jimmy Hahn pinned his 215-pound opponent in just 24 seconds and Nathaniel Eck received a forfeit at heavyweight before two consecutive double forfeits.
When action finally did return to the mat, Sheffield didn't take much longer to extend its lead.
Tyler Brisson earned a second period pin at 119 pounds, Travis Mosher followed with a quick pin at 125 pounds and Dylan Smith pushed the Wolverines lead to 30-0 with a pin at 135 pounds. Smith's pin was extremely quick, coming in 42 seconds.
Oswayo Valley got its first points with a Sheffield forfeit at 140, but the Wolverines bounced right back with a forfeit of their own to make it 36-6. The two teams would then spilt the final four matches of the evening with 152-pounder Mike Chittester recording a pin and 189-pounder Eric Perry winning by majority decision.
The Wolverines (2-0) will look to make it three in a row Tuesday when they visit Coudersport.
