Mary Kathleen Woods McCanna, 88, of the Rouse Home, formerly of 118 Mill St., Youngsville, died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009, in the nursing facility.

She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on December 26, 1920 the daughter of LeRoy and Grace Alexander Woods.

Mary was a member of the Youngsville American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed taking care of her home and in previous years she and her husband John, owned a cottage on Lake Erie and enjoyed entertaining family and friends.

She is survived by two sons John (Rose) McCanna, Youngsville and Raymond (Norma) McCanna, Pittsfield, five grandchildren John (Lauri) and Michele McCanna, Youngsville, Susan (Jerry) Scavone, Winter Park, Fl., Raymond (Elaine) McCanna, Hucker, Pa. and Robert (Heather) McCanna, Oak Ridge, N.C., eleven great grandchildren and a sister Doris Wolbert, Clarion, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her husband John H. McCanna whom she married on September 30, 1938 in Marienville, Pa. and who died on December 14, 1978 and by a brother Buddy Woods, step father Dide Blymiller and a daughter in law Tamara McCanna.

The funeral and committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the HubertLewis Funeral Home, Inc., Youngsville. The Rev. Marcus Briggs, Rouse Home Chaplain, will officiate.

Burial will be in Youngsville Cemetery.

Friends will be received for two hours prior to the funeral service.
