Parents will be notified as to when to pick up the gifts, which they will wrap themselves.

Lions Club News

Tidioute Lions Club thanks everyone for supporting its recycling efforts.

They would like to advise that they can no longer crush plastic bags with the number 2 plastic so they are asking everyone to stop leaving the plastic bags.

Also, a reminder that they cannot accept magazines and catalogs.

Tidioute Borough

Council

Council met in regular session and began with an executive session pertaining to personnel.

Mayor Pam McLaughlin commented on how nice the Picture Show Park looks all decked out in the spirit of Christmas for all to enjoy.

Police Chief Steve Vincent reported traveling 688 miles and responded to 17 calls.

Maintenance/Borough Manager Walt Snavley reported on the tree removal and stated that Taylor Tree Services will return in the spring to re-seed the areas where trees were removed.

Snavley also mentioned the kids who raked leaves and picked up trash at the boat launch.

A new lawn mower was ordered; money was previously budgeted for the purchase of a new mower when needed.

The budget for 2010 was passed and there is no increase in taxes.

Garbage Weight

Your trash bags are to only weight 35 pounds and no more and you should only have two bags, no more unless you are paying the higher rate.

Be considerate of those workers who are lifting those heavy bags all day long, and recycling will reduce your volume of trash.

This will help the community as the Lions Club run a recycling program and they give so much to the community.

Recycle the boxes that the toys come in and teach your children to "Go Green".

SWCMA

Southwest Warren County Municipal Authority members met and discussed the removal of trees and the trimming of several trees within the borough of Tidioute.

SWCMA is finished with the televising of the sewer lines. There is one line that will need to be replaced within the next couple of years.
