Robert William Reese, Sr, 71, of 49 Grant Street, Tidioute, PA, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Rouse Warren County Home following a lengthy illness.

He was born in East Hickory, PA, March 22, 1938, a son of the late Edward William and Eleanor ( Lucille ) Howe Reese and attended East Hickory Schools.

In 1956 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at Newport, Rhode Island. In 1980, he established and operated R.W. Reese Trucking, Inc, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR and football.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Glodella Mae Lewis and two brothers, Peter Lewis and Gordon Ellsworth.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Moore Reese, three children, Robert W. Reese, Jr., and his wife Kate, Renee A. Snavley, and Mrs. Jacob ( Danielle ) N. Barton, all of Tidioute. Ten grandchildren: Ashley Snavley, Scottsdale, AZ, Amber Snavley, Indiana, PA, Jacinta Reese, Pittsfield, PA, Geddy (Buddy) Helfrich, Pleasantville, PA, Karrah Reese, Kyle Kowalski, Briana Barton, Dakota Barton and Trustin McDonald, all of Tidioute and Fayth McKay of Chambersburg, PA. two greatGrandchildren, Mathia and Mallory McKay of Chambersburg, PA.

He is also survived by three sisters: Edna Mealy, Clarion, PA, Margaret Leech, Leeper, PA, Eleanor ( Susie) Gatesman, Lucinda, PA, three brothers: James Reese, West Hickory, PA, Theodore ( Ted ) Reese, in Florida, Frank Reese, Kane, PA and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the James M. Higgins Funeral Home, 3 Elm St. Tidioute, Sunday, Dec. 13th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and are invited to attend Services to be held in the Tidioute First United Methodist Church, Monday morning at 11:00 O'clock with Rev. Dennis Lawton, officiating. Interment will follow in Swedish Union Cemetery, Triumph Twp. Tidioute.

The family suggests that Memorials be made towards the Tidioute Health and Dental Center or the Tidioute Community Charter School.
