Conewango Twp.
Burglary. Personnel at Warren Railcar Service, Inc., 51 Railcar Rd., reported to Warren-based state police that between 4:30 p.m. Nov. 30 and 5:30 a.m. Dec. 1, someone forcibly entered the office building, causing damage to an exterior door and storm door. The intruder rummaged through the building before departing with a Mercury Cyberpix digital camera, according to police. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crimestoppers.
Pittsfield Twp.
Crash. According to Warren-based state police, a car crash occurred 7:15 a.m. Monday on Route 958 at the intersection of Route 6 as Nancy M. Cann, Bear Lake, was approaching the intersection and applied the breaks in her vehicle in an attempt to stop. Cann's vehicle began to slide on the road where she lost control and struck two stop signs, police said. PennDOT was notified of the crash and damage to the signs, according to police.
Harassment. Warren-based state police reported Randy George, North East, and Theresa Culver, North East, were charged with harassment before Magistrate Lindemuth. Police reported the two were involved in a verbal altercation which turned physical.
Spring Creek Twp.
Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a deer/vehicles accident on Route 426 at 9:40 p.m. Nov. 29. According to police, Daniel Sabat, 49, Corry, was driving a 2006 Ford Fusion SE west on Route 426 with passenger Michael Beers, 35, Corry, while Susan Gobbel, 54, Spartansburg, was driving a 2003 Toyota Highlander east. Police said a deer came onto the roadway from the south side and into the path of Gobbel's vehicle; she saw the deer and started to slow down/stop. Police reported the deer continued into the westbound lane and Sabat didn't see the deer. He struck it with the left front of his vehicle, and the deer was thrown into the path of the Highlander, striking the windshield and the driver's side window. Police were assisted at the scene by Corry Ambulance and Spring Creek volunteer firefighters. Gobbel was transported to Warren General Hospital with a major injury.
Sugar Grove Twp.
Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Stoney Run Road at 7:05 p.m. Nov. 30. According to police, Catherine Fino Simmons, 24, Warren, was driving a 2003 Nissan Altima south on Stoney Run Road when she negotiated a right-hand curve and lost control. Police said the Altima then traveled off the east berm, rolling onto its side and struck several trees. Police said Simmons was charged with driving too fast for conditions.
Mead Twp.
Theft. Warren-based state police reported Dawn Marie Lewis, Clarendon, said an unknown male came to her house on five separate occasions and collected her rent money, totaling $1625.00 between June 19 and Oct. 2. Police reported she later learned the male was not acting as an agent of the landlord and the money was not paid to the landlord. Police reported anyone with information relative to this crime is asked to contact Warren-based state police or Warren County Crimestoppers.
Clarendon Boro.
Theft of property lost, mislaid or delivered by mistake. Police reported the child of a male, 33, Clarendon, had taken a Nokia phone to school and lost the phone between his residence and school between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Dec. 1. Police reported upon searching the area where the phone is believed to be lost, it could not be found. Police reported the total loss was $239.00.
Youngsville Boro.
Burglary. Warren-based state police reported someone entered the residence of David Swartwood, 63, West Main St. while the victim was sleeping at 3:25 a.m. Dec. 2. Police reported someone took money from Swartwood's wallet while inside the residence, and then fled the residence on foot. Police reported anyone with information in reference to this incident is asked to call Warren-based state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.
