A Shippensburg University student from Warren is among 20 students from the SU Honors Program who have received undergraduate research grants for the 2009-2010 academic year. The awards were recently announced by the university's Institute for Public Service. Stacie Stuart, a junior finance and economics major, received the grant for her project "Should We Really Legalize Marijuana?" Stacie will collect and analyze information from surveys to determine whether a correlation exists between marijuana use and crime rates. She'll also be comparing her findings with what has previously been written on the subject. Funding is provided by the SU Foundation and enables students to better understand the scientific process, experience discovery, and develop analytical and communication skills.
