Donald C. Hoffman, 73, of Clarendon, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 23, 2009 at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne, Fla. surrounded by family and loved ones.
Donald was born July 17, 1936, in Erie, the son of the late Joseph and Florence Clark Hoffman. Mr. Hoffman was owner and cofounder of Hoffman Coach Company with his late wife of 50 years, Margaret. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and lifetime member of the National Family Motor Coach Association of which he was also a past director. He was an avid fan and supporter of local dirt track racing, cheering on his sons and nephews. He also enjoyed his family, camping and his business.
He is survived by Wanda McClellan, whom he was with the past year and a half and who stood by his side during his recent illness; two sons: Timothy Hoffman and his wife Kimberly and Jeffrey Hoffman and his wife Marcia, both of Clarendon; two daughters: Bonnie Hoffman, Clarendon and Debbie McClain and her husband Doug, Warren; three brothers: Ralph Hoffman and his wife Patsy, Warren; twin brother Dave Hoffman and his wife Angie, Erie and Ken Hoffman and Barbie, Warren; ten grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Mary Davies Hoffman, whom he married on December 4, 1954 and who passed away on May 16, 2005.
Friends will be received at the First Church of the Nazarene, 907 Pennsylvania Ave. E., Warren, on Monday, November 30, 2009 from 24 & 68 p.m. and for one hour prior to the funeral service to be held there at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, with Rev. G. A. Hankins, pastor, First Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, Pa.
