Julianna Louise Mangus, 44, of College Park, Md. died suddenly on November 20, 2009 at Doctors Community Hospital after a short unexplained illness. She was born on April 28, 1965 in Cheverly, Md. and was the daughter of John and Louise Mangus, of Warren, Pa.

Despite having Turner's Syndrome and other health concerns, Julie graduated from Parkdale Senior High in 1983 and earned an Associate degree in Business Administration from Prince Georges Community College. Her love for the earth and environment chartered her working career and she entered into civil service with the Department of Agriculture. She transferred to the Department of the Interior Inspector General's Office and was a government employee for over twenty years. Julie prided herself on her career and had an amazing work ethic and was always regarded as a dependable and much loved coworker.

Julie was fiercely independent, but also extremely devoted to her family and friends.

She is survived by her parents and her three adoring older brothers: David, of Eldersburg, Md.; Nicholas, of Potomac Falls, Va.; and Paul, of Ashton, Md.; 3 sistersinlaw, 4 nieces and 2 nephews, who she showered with love and attention, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, who will miss her dearly.

Julie loved being involved in the community and along with having passionate political views, volunteered at political rallies, the last few inaugural events, and many Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure efforts, as well as her apartment owners' group. She was also a stalwart Redskins fan and a lover of Celine Dion's music. She loved reading and enjoyed keeping up with who triumphed on American Idol, Desperate Housewives, The Young and the Restless and what was going on in her favorite celebrities' lives.

A memorial service and celebration of Julie's life will be held at Hines Rinaldi Funeral Home, Silver Spring, Md. on Tuesday evening, Nov. 24th. A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 25th at 10 a.m. at Saint Louis Catholic Church, Clarksville, Md. Internment will follow next week at Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Warren, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julie's name to Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure efforts.
