Charged. Warren City police on Monday charged Angel Phelps, 22, 124 N. Main St., Clarendon, with theft and receiving stolen property after receiving a complaint at 10:33 a.m. Nov. 21 of a custodian stealing property belonging to guests at the Holiday Inn of Warren. According to police, a guest at the Holiday Inn on Nov. 18 and 19 had $6,400 in cash taken from a brief case that was kept in his room. According to police, Phelps gave away $1,500 of the money and spent all but $1,700 of it.
Charged. Warren City police on Monday charged Karen Dunn, 18, and Joshua Thompson, 22, both of Route 6, Clarendon, with receiving stolen property. According to police, Dunn and Thompson received $1,500 in cash from Angel Phelps, 22, 124 N. Main St., Clarendon, after she told them she stole it from a room at the Holiday Inn while she was working there.
Charged. Warren City police on Monday charged Angel Phelps, 22, 124 N. Main St., Clarendon, with theft and receiving stolen property following an investigation into an incident that occurred at the Holiday Inn between Oct. 5 and Nov. 5 while she was employed there as a custodian. According to police, Phelps entered a room at the Holiday Inn and removed a pair of one-fifth karat diamond earrings and a one-quarter karat diamond necklace that was kept in a white jewelry box inside a guest's duffel bag. Police said Phelps sold the jewelry to an unknown male for $50.
Charged. Warren City police on Monday charged Claudia Bunce, 21, 2003 Chapman Dam Rd., Clarendon, with bad checks and theft by deception. According to police, Bunce issued a check for $200 to Means Sales, 315 Pennsylvania Ave. E., on Oct. 30. The check was returned and marked 'not sufficient funds.'
Jamestown, N.Y.
Charged. Warren-based state police on Monday arrested Jeanette Winters, 29, Jamestown, N.Y., and charged her with burglaries at the Bees residence in Pine Grove Township, the Abbey residence on Route 69 and the VanOrd residence in Sugar Grove Township on Nov. 25, 2008. Police said Winters was preliminarily arraigned before District Judge Laura Bauer, who set bail at $25,000.
