Helen A. Swartz, age 89 of Swartz Road, Rimersburg, Pa passed away on Tuesday November 17, 2009 at 2:45 a.m. at the Rouse Estate in Youngsville, Pa following a period of declining health.

She was born in Lawsonham, Pa on March 7, 1920 and was a daughter of the late Lloyd Russell Mortimer and Etta Mae Hawk Mortimer.

She was a member of the Lawsonham United Methodist Church, enjoyed quilting and was well known for her baking abilities, especially Cinnamon rolls.

She attended the Pinoak Elementary School and then graduated from Rimersburg High School.

During WWII she was employed at Owens Illinois in Clarion and then retired from Archway Cookie Company in Rimersburg, Pa

She married Lloyd F. Swartz on Aug 23, 1941 in Rimersburg & he preceded her in death on July 1, 1974.

Surviving is: 1 Son and wife: Gary F. Swartz and Mary Ellen of Warren, Pa; 4 Grandchildren: Tina Smith and husband Raymond of Sheffield, Pa, Todd Swartz of Sheffield, Pa. Tracy Swartz and Ronna of Warren, Pa, Tricia Poston and Joseph of North Warren, Pa; 11greatgrandchildren;1 greatgreatgrandchild;a nephew she helped raise in his younger years, Rick A. Mortimer; and 1 Sister: Mrs. Marie Gray of West Hickory, Pa; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband are two brothers: Edwin L. Mortimer and Harry Guy Mortimer.

Friends will be received at the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home in Rimersburg on Thursday from 2 4 and 7 9 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held from the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Brock R. Beveridge, pastor of the Lawsonham United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
