Bad checks, theft by deception. Warren City police reported a criminal complaint was filed charging Michelle R. Snider, 45, 1104 Pennsylvania Ave. E., Apt. A, after she issued a check on Sept. 25 to Means Sales and Service, 315 Pennsylvania Ave. E., for $76.11 that was not honored by the bank.
Conewango Twp.
Retail theft. Conewango Township police reported Heather Anderson, 22, 40 Allegheny Dr., was cited after she received merchandise and services from Wal-Mart Tire and Lube without paying the full retail value on Sept. 26. Police reported another employee at Wal-Mart had discounted merchandise and services for Anderson in the amount of $88. Police said a retail theft charge was filed with District Justice Laura Bauer.
Retail theft. Conewango Township police reported Cher'ee Simpson, 36, 212 Madison Ave., was cited after she received merchandise and services from the Wal-Mart Tire and Lube without paying the full retail value. Police reported another employee at Wal-Mart had discounted merchandise and services for Simpson in the amount of $82.75. Police said a retail theft charge was filed with District Justice Laura Bauer.
Retail theft. Conewango Township police reported Robert G. Swartz, 40, 25 N. State St., North Warren, was charged for a misdemeanor 1 offense after he under-rang and discounted merchandise and services for others from the Wal-Mart Tire and Lube between March 6 and September. Police said Swartz voided some transactions and discounted others which allowed other employees of Wal-Mart and other people to receive merchandise without paying the full retail value in the amount of $441.50. Police said a retail theft charge was filed with District Justice Laura Bauer for the offense of retail theft.
Columbus Twp.
Hit and run crash. Corry-based state police reported a larger light-colored sedan was southbound on Spencer Road and the operator lost control for some reason. Police reported the sedan went onto the west berm and came across the road and left the roadway on the east side. Police said the sedan then struck a parked 2006 Dodge Stratus causing it to slide around approximately 90 degrees. Police reported the sedan then fled the scene southbound. Police said the Stratus received moderate damage. Anyone with information is asked to contact Corry-based state police.
Mead Twp.
Hit and run crash. Warren-based state police reported a blue four-door sedan was eastbound on Rt. 6 near School St. while Matthew Shiley, 25, Franklin, was westbound in a 2006 Freightliner Fedex truck at 10:40 p.m. Monday. Police said the sedan crossed the center line directly into the path of the truck, causing the sedan to sideswipe the truck. Police said the sedan then continued eastbound on Rt. 6 towards Sheffield. Police said the vehicle is described as possibly a Ford Taurus, with significant front and driver-side damage. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police.
Spring Creek Twp.
Harassment. Warren-based state police reported on Oct. 9 that Timothy G. Cravener, 19, Spring Creek, engaged in a course of conduct which served no legitimate purpose on Old Route 77 against Jaquith & Woodward Personal Care.
Clarendon
DUI crash. Warren-based state police reported Donna J. Johnson, 55, Clarendon, was driving a 2010 Bluebird school bus with passengers Taran Hansen, 13; Tiffani Hansen, 15; and Daniel A. Dickey, 17, all of Clarendon at 11:28 p.m. on Oct. 24 on the corner of N. Main St. and Exchange St. Police reported the bus was stopped in the westbound lane on N. Main St. with its red lights activated while discharging students from an after-school activity. Police reported Samuel E. Brown, 46, Clarendon, was driving a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan with passenger Sandra L. Meddock, 42, Clarendon, west on N. Main St. and approaching the bus. Police reported Brown was apparently distracted and failed to properly observe that the bus was stopped. Police reported Brown abruptly applied the brakes before hitting the front end of his vehicle against the rear of the bus. Police reported the Grand Caravan came to an immediate stop with the front end partly under the rear of the bus. Police said Brown received moderate injuries and was transported to Warren General Hospital by Clarendon VFD. Police reported Johnson was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Police reported the passengers were not injured. Police said their investigation revealed that Brown was intoxicated; DUI charges and summary traffic offenses were to be filed.
Tidioute
Runaway juvenile. Crystal Rose Yeskey, 16 Cobham Hill Rd., has been reported as a runaway to Warren-based state police. Police reported she left her residence at approximately 6 a.m. Oct. 23 and failed to return at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 25 as expected. Police reported she is described as 5'4", 119 pounds, short dark hair, with a tattoo on her neck reading "no lies just love," a tattoo on her left shoulder blade of a bat and a pierced tongue. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact Warren-based state police or Crimestoppers.
Crash. Tidioute Borough police responded to a motor vehicle accident at approximately 7 p.m. Oct. 23. Police reported a vehicle driven by Matthew Brown, 16, Tidioute, was traveling north on Scott St. when he swerved to miss an animal and struck a parked vehicle owned by Rhonda Tschannen, Tidioute. Police said the impact caused the Tschannen vehicle to strike another parked vehicle owned by Robert and Kristen McLaughlin, Tidioute. Police said Brown will be charged with driving at unsafe speed.
Theft. Tidioute Borough police reported sometime after 2 a.m. Oct. 25 someone stole a crosswalk pedestrian sign along Buckingham St. Anyone with information is asked to contact the borough police or Crimestoppers.
