Trail group to meet
The Allegheny National Forest chapter of the North Country Trail will meet at the Lion's Den in Sheffield at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26. Topics to be discussed include the Coalbed Run project initiated by the forest service and involving a long-awaited trail re-route north of Kelletville, and the recent Keystone Trails Association meeting held in Marienville in which the group was well represented and offered great trails to hike. Everyone is welcome, but you must bring ideas to the meeting. Any questions, contact Keith Klos at (814) 484-7420.
Seminar offered on domestic
violence and sexual abuse
An adult education seminar on domestic violence and sexual abuse will be presented by Ruth Chase of A Safe Place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Seventh-day Adventist Church, 6616 Market St., Russell (six miles north of Warren on Rt. 62). The event will be free and open to the public.
Spaghetti served Sunday
A spaghetti dinner will be served Sunday, Oct. 25, to benefit St. Joseph's Catholic School at St. Joseph's Educational Center. Dining room seating will be from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and take-outs will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Children age 4 and younger can eat for free.
Food and fun at WCCS
The senior class of Warren County Christian School (Rt. 6 West in Youngsville) invites the public to an evening of food and fun on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. Experience "Once Upon A Time..." a chance to relive bedtime rhymes with Hansel & Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, Little Miss Muffet, The Princess and the Pea, and Jack & Jill. The WCCS gymnasium will be magically transformed into a storyland atmosphere where participants can enjoy a spaghetti or lasagna dinner - complete with salad, garlic bread, beverage and dessert. There is no set price for the meal, but donations will be accepted. Reservations are helpful and take-outs will be available; call 563-4457.
