DAVID ROWLEY
David J. Rowley, 70, of Lakeland, Fla., passed away Monday, September 28, 2009, due to cancer.
He was born April 27, 1939, in Warren, Pa., the son of the late Gerald and Anna Mae Rowley. He moved to Lakeland in 1985.
David was a 1957 graduate of Warren High School, a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, a member of Stillwater Lodge #547 Free & Accepted Masons in Youngsville, Coudersport Consistory, and Zem Zem Shrine. He was a charter President of Brokenstraw Valley Jaycees, retired from the National Forge Co., former owner of "The Store" in Youngsville and a former auctioneer. He was a member of First Community Church, Highland City, Fla.
He is survived by his wife, June Rowley; a daughter, Linnea (David) Vogt, both of Lakeland; stepson Bob (Pam) Evans, stepdaughter, Judy (Gary) Sharpe of Mulberry, Fla.; a brother, Gary (Judy) Rowley, Russell, Pa.; grandchildren Adrienne, David III, Tyler, Lacee, Clay, Evan, Ellen, Grady, Elizabeth; and greatgranddaughters Kirsten, Emily and LeAnna; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, Oct. 4, 4 p.m. at First Community Church. Interment will be private at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.
