Free sale
Warren Alliance Church will have a "Free Sale" from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. All items, including clothing, household items, baby items, books, etc., will be given away for free! The church is located at 278 Kinzua Dr. (Rt. 59).
Compost seminar
A compost seminar will be presented by Warren County Penn State Master Gardeners from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Oct. 17, at the Jefferson DeFrees Center, Second Ave., Warren. Cost will be $5 per person to cover expenses, and each person attending will receive a free $70 compost bin from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and two free classes. The seminar will teach participants how composting works, what materials they should and should not compost and how to maintain their compost. The two free mini classes will start at 10:30 a.m.; they are "Putting Your Garden to Bed" by Diamond Geiger and "Spring Garden Planning & Preparation" by Josie Gerardi. New Beginnings

Men of Warren High School Class of 1951 will have breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Perkins restaurant in Warren.
United Fund to meet
The United Fund of Warren County will have its Torchlight Campaign kick-off breakfast at 8 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Conewango Club, Market St., Warren. Merl Rice, Lori McNeal, Lincoln Sokolski and Mike Hostovich will speak.
Harvest dinner
The 22nd Annual Harvest Dinner will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m.. Friday, Oct. 2, at Lottsville United Methodist Church. Donations will be accepted, and take-outs will be available. The menu will include turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, fruit and favorite fall vegetables with homemade pie for dessert.
