Roshni J. Desai and Nathan J. Heltzel were married July 4, 2009, at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, N.Y.
The bride is the daughter of Jitendra and Shobha Desai of West Paterson, N.J. The groom is the son of the late Rev. Christina G. Bauschard and of Jerry and Karen Heltzel of Warren.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of The State University of New York State College of Optometry and completed a residency in primary care optometry, with emphasis on ocular disease, at The Eye Institute, at Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Desai is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is a Board Certified Optometric Physician in New York and New Jersey. She currently works in private practice.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Mount Saint Mary College (BA), a 2002 graduate of Long Island University (MS), a 2006 graduate of The State University of New York College at New Paltz (CAS) and is currently pursuing a doctor of education degree at Liberty University. He is currently employed as a high school guidance counselor at Briarcliff High School in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.
The couple honeymooned in India.
