The last syllable of the last word in a story on the effects of the state budget impasse on human services programs was left off of a story because of a production error in Friday's Times Observer. The last sentence, a quote from Commissioner John Bortz, should have read as follows: "I'm as conservative and as Republican as they come, but concessions have to be made, compromises have to be made in order to move the affairs of the people forward."
