John McQuillan, son of Marty McQuillan of Warren, graduated from Queens University, Charlotte, N.C., with a bachelor of arts degree in history. McQuillan's concentration in studies was secondary education and European history. He plans to obtain his master's degree in education when he returns from his deployment in Iraq with the U.S. Army.

Amanda Elizabeth Johns, wife of Curtis A. Johns and daughter of Cathy Phillips and Mark and Barbara Phillips of Warren, graduated magna cum laude from Duquesne University on May 23 with a doctor of pharmacy degree, with a grade point average of 3.83, and with highest honors from the Honors College.

Johns was involved in many honor societies, including Rho Chi Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma, Lambda Sigma, and was included in "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges." She was named to the dean's list every semester and worked for the pharmacy school as a tutor. She also earned a Geriatrics Pharmacotherapy Certificate and has her license to administer immunizations and other injectable medications. Johns works in Mars, Pa.., as a pharmacist.

Kelsey Marie Flatt, daughter of Kathryn and Dennis Flatt, Youngsville, has been accepted at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania for the fall semester. A graduate of Youngsville High School, Flatt was active in orchestra, cross country and track. She plans to major in speech and hearing sciences at Edinboro.
