The City of Warren recently released restaurant and food service inspection results from August.

Inspections were completed, and the following establishments have valid licenses until August 31, 2010:

Subway, 338 Pennsylvania Ave. W., with two non-critical violations: thermometers not provided in all refrigerators and kitchen floor needs repaired.

Nichols-N-Dimes, 1101 Pennsylvania Ave. W., with two critical violations: proper cold holding temperature not maintained in open deli case and pizza not maintained at proper hot holding temperature; and one non-critical violation: thermometers not provided in all freezers.

Westside Take-Out, 1402 Pennsylvania Ave. W., with no violations.

Quizno's, 1060 Pennsylvania Ave. W., with no violations.

Holy Redeemer Center, 11 Russell St., with no violations.

Peppermill, 1505 Pennsylvania Ave. E., with two critical violations: proper cold holding temperature not maintained in one refrigerator and freezer, and gravy not maintained at proper hot holding temperature.

The following six-month inspections were also completed by the City of Warren:

Pizza Hut, 25 Pennsylvania Ave. W., with no violations.

Moose Club, 422 Pennsylvania Ave. W., with one critical violation: gravy and sauces not at proper hot holding temperature; and three non-critical violations: outdated buttermilk found in refrigerator, thermometers not provided in all appliances and uncovered food found in refrigerator and freezer.

Salvation Army, 311 Beech St., with no violations.

Warren County restaurant and food and inspections were performed by the state Department of Agriculture.

The follow establishments were inspected and found to be in compliance:

Bear Lake VFD, Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with one non-critical violation: water supply line hose connection is leaking.

Brokenstraw Grange, Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with three critical violations: handwashing sink blocked by dishes (violation corrected on-site), potato and pasta salads are being made in a home kitchen which is not an approved facility and internal temperature of macaroni salad was 47? F rather than 41? F; one non-critical violation: five lights in the facility are not shielded from breakage.

Conewango Valley Country Club, Route 62, with two non-critical violations: walk-in freezer has an accumulation of ice build-up and facility lacks sanitizer test strips.

Cornplanter Concession, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, with one critical violation: food in refrigerator recorded at 52-55?F (violation corrected on-site); and one non-critical violation: refrigerator not working properly.

Crone's Drug Store, 212 Liberty St., with no violations.

Double D's, 4020 Route 27, Garland, with no violations.

Eagles Touchdown Club, Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with two critical violations: food handlers were observed eating food in food preparation area and handwashing sink had hose connected to it and there was no way to hold hose and wash hands under running water; and three non-critical violations: freezer not working properly, worker observed picking up food with thermal glove instead of single use glove and hydrant to which the water supply is connected is at ground level and not elevated.

Eisenhower Bandastic Boosters, Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with no violations.

Eisenhower Knighttime Players, Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with one non-critical violation: facility lacks sanitizer test strips.

RSVP-Fruit Cup, Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with one critical violation: internal temperature of yogurt was 46?F rather than 41?F as required (corrected on-site); and two non-critical violations: sanitizer chlorine was too diluted (corrected on-site) and employee was observed dumping wastewater in storm drain rather than in an approved way.

Salvation Army, Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with one critical violation: hand sanitizer being used at the handwashing sink rather than soap; and three non-critical violations: no warewashing sinks were set up, wastewater being dumped in a storm drain and two lights not shielded from breakage.

Scandia VFD, Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with one critical violation: chopped ham was at 59?F rather than 41?F or below as required; and two non-critical violations: cooler not at proper holding temperature and two lights not shielded from breakage.
