LEROY LEWIS

Leroy W. Lewis, 66, of Route 958, Pittsfield, Pa. went to be with his Lord at 2:30 a.m., Wed., August 19, 2009 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Middletown, N.Y., on March 28, 1943 to the late Leroy and Carolyn Babcock Lewis.

He is survived by his wife, Judith M. Lewis, who celebrated their 39th year of marriage on July 31, 2009. Also surviving are a son, Eric J. Lewis and wife Tiffany; four brothers, Arthur Lewis, Kenneth Lewis and wife Carmela, Dennis Lewis and companion Tracey Ambrose Lewis, all from Middletown N.Y. Also surving are four sisters, Diane McGraw and husband Tex from Walker Valley, N.Y.; Sherry Budd and husband David; Colleen Dumenigo, Livingston Manor, N.Y. and Cindy Lewis, Middletown, N.Y.; also an Uncle Kenneth Babcock and wife Barbara of Middletown, N.Y. and many nieces and nephews.

Butch had been a member of Wrightsville Volunteer Fire Dept. for 20 years, serving as its president for the past 10 years. He also was one of the original members who started Warren County Fire Police and served with that organization for four years before he was awarded a lifetime membership.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Wrightsville Community Church, with Pastor Jim Rucks performing the service.
