Registrations are open for the Jefferson DeFrees Family Center preschool and pre-k programs for the 2009-2010 school year.
Preschool classes for children, who are 3 by Aug. 31, will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Children will learn social and emotional skills, along with colors, shapes, numbers, counting, physical development skills and more. A snack along with milk will be provided by the JD Family Center. Before and after preschool class care is also available.
A full day pre-k program for children, who will be 4 by Aug. 31, will be held Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., following a modified school calendar. Children in this program will learn pre-reading, pre-writing, math and science skills along with social and emotional skills. The pre-k program uses the same math and reading curriculum as the Warren County School District and prepares children for a smooth transition into kindergarten.
The EOC Scholarship Fund is available for both programs to help reduced costs for qualified families.
