BUSTI, N.Y. - Stateline Speedway will make its second attempt at running the Lynn Seamen Super Late Model Memorial this Saturday with Lias American Race Tires and Roberts Trucking sponsoring the event.
The first attempt was stopped by rain on July 11 with 43 Super Late Models on hand, preparing for the qualifying events.
It was a virtual who's who of local Super Late Model racing, including Gregg Satterlee, Rochester Mills, Mike Knight, Ripley N.Y., Rob Blair, Centerville, Vic Coffey, Caledonia N.Y., Ron and Dutch Davies, Warren, Bob Close, Eldred, and Boom Briggs, Bear Lake.
The purse for this race will be the biggest payout in the speedway's history. Warren's Chad Valone is leading the point chase in the Super Late division with veteran Scott Gurdak, Spring Creek, second and 2007 champion Rod Maloy, Panama N.Y., third.
All other racing divisions will also compete on Saturday.
The E-Mod division is led by Sherman, N.Y.'s Justin Carlson, followed by Corry's Mike Munsee. The recently rained out E-Mod $5,000-to-win event has been rescheduled for August 15.
With only heats run in all the divisions but the Challengers last week, the point standings remain unchanged.
Elaine Best won the Lady Challenger feature and remains third in the standings following leader Tabetha Houser, North East, and Stephanie Hilyer.
Gates open at 5 p.m. Saturday with racing starting at 7 p.m. For information, visit the track's website at www.stateline-speedway.com.
