W. RONALD TRAYER

W. Ronald Trayer, 67, of 29 Pleasant Drive, Youngsville, Pa. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, August 2, 2009 at UPMCShadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born August 29, 1941 in Brookville, Pa. to the late Wilbert D. and Edith M. Sharp Trayer. Ron was a graduate of Brookville High School Class of 1959 and resided in Youngsville for the past 35 years.

He was employed as a Tool and Die Maker and was Head Supervisor of the tool dept. at the former Loranger Manufacturing for 37 years and then went to work for Loranger International as a tool and die maker for five years, retiring in 2004. He was an active volunteer for 35 years with the Youngsville Volunteer Fire Dept. of which 12 of those years he served as a emergency medical technician.

Ron was a 35 year member of the Youngsville Evangelical United Methodist Church, fraternal order of the eagles aerie #313, Youngsville American Legion Post 658, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, Youngsville Senior Men's Golf League.

He loved the outdoors, traveling and taking his grandchildren on a vacation every summer. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and bowler.

He truly enjoyed his family and was extremely proud of his son, Michael, serving with the U.S. Army National Guard, currently in Iraq.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joyce L. Henry Trayer, whom he married July 20, 1963 in Brookville, Pa.; one daughter, Mindi Nobles and her husband Bill of Irvine, Pa.; one son, Sergeant Michael Trayer of Erie, Pa.; one sister, Shirley Longenecker and her husband Wayne of Washington, Pa.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Nobles of Chicora, Pa., Jolene Nobles, serving with the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, Va., Alexandria and Ashley Morris of Irvine, Pa.; one greatgrandson, Mason Nobles of Chicora, Pa. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, Pa. on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Members of the Youngsville Fire Dept. will escort Ron's remains via fire truck from the funeral home on Saturday to the Youngsville Evangelical United Methodist Church, where family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, when a memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Anette Gerber, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
