Etta Mae "Mamie" Skinner, 81, of 367 National Forge Rd., Irvine, died at 4 p.m. Monday (July 27, 2009) as the result of an automobile accident on Route 6 in Columbus Township.
She was born in New Kensington, Pa. on April 9, 1928, the daughter of Lewis Thomas and Gertrude Keller Jewart.
In earlier years she was employed at the Warren State Hospital, was a caregiver at the Newbold Estate and was owner of the BettyAnn Discount Paint and Toy Store in Warren.
She was a loving mother and grandmother, who loved her children and grandchildren. She also loved to shop and eat out and enjoyed the outdoors and gardening.
Survivors include three daughters, Bridgitt (Tom) Fill, Lisa (Luke) Johnson and Julie (John) Saporito, Youngsville; five grandchildren, Brookie (Scott) LaVigne, Jeremy and Lauren Saporito, Joey and Brandie Fill, Youngsville; a brother, Lewis Thomas Jewart, Youngsville; and a sister, Jean Parks, Creekside, Pa.
She died along with her husband, M. Richard "Buzz" Skinner, whom she married in June 1961, and was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Keller; and two sisters, Ruth Johnson and Mildred Hetrick.
The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the HubertLewis Funeral Home, Inc., Youngsville. The Rev. David Diffendorfer, pastor, will officiate. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
