Clark-Galloway

July 25, 2009
The Times Observer

Erin Clark and Travis Galloway were united in marriage on June 28 at Table Rock State Park in northwestern South Carolina by Reverend Luther Rickenbaker of Central United Methodist Church, Spartanburg, S.C., assisted by Rev. Jimmy Galloway, grooms uncle. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Radford Clark of Gray Court, S.C. and Dennis and Linda (Clark) Peterson of Youngsville. The groom's parents are Jerry and Faye Galloway of Spartanburg, S.C.

Wedding music was provided by the Furman Madrigals (an a cappella group of which Erin was a founding member), by Bryan Gick, brother of the bride, and by guitarist Laura Nevitt.

Attendants were Rachel Farmer, groom's sister, as maid of honor, and bridesmaids: Rachel Chambers, Mindy (Bennett) Cotton, and Stephanie Kamoroff, all friends of the bride. Flower girls were bride's nieces: Hallie Gallego, Madison Pott, Sophie Pott, and Anna Gick. Remy Clark, brother of the bride, served as ring bearer.

Best man was Nathan Galloway, brother of the groom. Other groomsmen were Jason Farmer, brother-in-law of the groom, Eric Knight, friend of the groom, and Bryan Gick, bride's brother. The bride's nephews who served as ushers were Cody Pott, Jordan Alexander Gallego, and Josiah Pott. A reception was held at the same location following the wedding with bride's sisters, Laurie (Gick) Gallego and Toni (Gick) Pott acting as hostesses. Close family relatives Jim and Gail Cowan, Kathleen (Cowan) and Harry Barkham, and Margaret (Swanson) and Sal Bellavia volunteered as production crew. Bridal showers were hosted by Mrs. James (Gail) Cowan and the ladies of the EUM Church of Youngsville, by bride's sister, Toni Pott, at her home in Greenville SC, and by the teachers at the school where Travis teaches.

A lovely rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents in Spartanburg SC.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of Youngsville High School and earned a Bachelor of Music Degree from Furman University in Greenville SC in May of 2008. The groom has a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts and a Master's in Art and Education, both from Lander University in Greenwood, SC. Following the wedding, the couple spent 2 weeks traveling in Scotland and Ireland before returning to their home in Boiling Springs, SC, near where the groom teaches art at Duncan Elementary School. The bride has an affiliation with Converse College where she will teach private piano to pre-college students.
