Barbara L. Harrison, 74, of 310 Liberty Street, Apt. 508, Warren, Pa. died Tuesday morning, July 21, 2009 at St. Vincent Health Care Center, Erie, Pa., after a two month illness.
She was born June 28, 1935 in Jamestown, N.Y. to the late Richard "Dick" and Barbara V. Morrison Harrison. She resided in Warren most of her entire life.
Barb was a 1954 graduate of Warren High School and was employed as a waitress with Blueberry Golf Course and Pepper Mill Restaurant.
She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Women of the Moose and Warren Eagles Club. Barb was an active volunteer with the Library Theatre, R.S.V.P., Relay for Life with the American Cancer Society.
She loved ice skating, talking about her grandchildren and enjoyed to help raising all of her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Tenney and her husband David of Warren, Pa.; a son, Chief Petty Officer Jeffrey M. Harrison, retired and his wife Marie of Pensacola, Fla.; soninlaw, John Johnson and his wife Leslie of Warren; three sisters, Mary Ann Hughes and husband Ted of Ravenna, Ohio; Joan Harrison, Rita Highhouse and husband Bob, all of Warren; one brother, Alexander J. Harrison of Warren; six grandchildren, Brian and Scott Johnson, Mike and Nate Tenney, all of Warren; Christopher and Roslyn Harrison of Pensacola, Fla. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald G. Harrison, who died in 1967, whom she married February 1, 1958 in Warren; longtime companion, Ollie Alexander; one daughter, Monica L. Harrison Johnson; and one sister, Patricia Cummings.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, Pa. from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, where a funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Joseph Lucia, deacon, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery.
