Albert Leichtenberger, 78, of 1122 Lottsville Niobe Rd., Bear Lake, Pa. died at 11:19 a.m. Saturday (July 18, 2009) at his residence.

He was born in Brooks-ton, Pa. on December 21, 1930, the son of the late Augustine and Frances Blauser Leichtenberger.

Albert was employed as a sprayer for 23 years at the former Art Medal, James-town, N.Y. and then was employed at Fomex in Cor-ry for 20 years.

He served as a Private First Class with Company A, Twenty First Infantry Regiment in Korea and was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and the United Na-tions Service Medal.

Albert is survived by his wife, Margaret Shellhouse Leichtenberger, whom he married on March 12, 1956 in the Busti Church of God; three daughters, Barbara Leichtenberger, Lottsville Niobe Rd., Cindy (Jeff) Cox, Jacksonville, Ala. and Brenda (Brian) Zock, War-ren; three grandchildren, Brooke (Marc) Williams and Nicodemus Zock, War-ren, and Craig Cowan, Ludlow, Pa.; two great- grandchildren, Marc Willi-ams Jr. and Andrew Willi-ams, Warren; a brother, Carl (Barbara) Leichtenberger, Barnes, Pa.; four sisters, Ruth Kosinski and Mary Moore, Jamestown, N.Y., Marguerite (James) Black, Youngsville and Elaine (John) Boylan, Lantz Corners, Pa.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, LeRoy, Frank and William Leichtenberger and by two sisters, Lucy Mahan and Irene Zock.

A private family service will be held at the con-venience of the family. Visitation will not be ob-served.

Memorials may be made to Berea Lutheran Church, Wrightsville, Pa., Wrights-ville Volunteer Fire Depart-ment or to Bear Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
