Michael C. Barnhart, age 63, formerly of Warren, Pa., died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa.
He was born September 12, 1945, in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Marshall Barnhart and Helen Virginia Martin and step mother Dorris Stein Barnhart. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Donza Lee Fox.
Michael graduated from Washington High School Class of 1963 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and retired from Verizon Wireless Sale Division.
He was awarded the Outstanding Young Men of America in 1981, was past president of the Warren Exchange Club; past president of the Warren Kiwanis Club; past president of Warren County Babe Ruth Baseball League; past president of the Warren Wrestling Boosters; former volunteer for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Warren County; and former Warren Players Club member.
He is survived by three sons, Jeffrey M. Barnhart and wife Cara, of West Deer, Pa.; Jason S. (Jake) Barnhart, of Coraopolis, Pa. and Jonathan D. Barnhart and wife Christine, of Butler, Pa; four grandchildren Evan, Jaden, Leila, Cardon and Burnette Barnhart; two sisters, Virginia Barton, of Washington, Pa. and Marsha King and husband David, of Rochester, N.Y.; and long time fiance, Lorinda S. McDowell.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Andrew D. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown Pa. Services will be private. Memorial emails may be sent to the family at memorials@ adferguson.com.
