Sportsman, Cadets on tap at Stateline
By GLENN SLOCUMBUSTI, N.Y. - Stateline Speedway will be the site for the Jed Lyon Memorial Super Sportsman Special and Outlaw Cadet King of the Hill on Saturday evening.
Jamestown N.Y.'s John Boardman has dominated the Super Sportsman division and will be the odds on favorite to win the Jed Lyon Memorial race. Boardman has won seven of the 10 features this season and leads the points race by 381 points. Two Jamestown natives are second and third, Joe Buccola Jr. and Dan Nocero Jr. with Sherman N.Y.'s Ben Burgess Jr. fourth and Wade Watson of Ashville, N.Y. fifth.
Defending Outlaw Cadet Champion Mike Moore has three wins and the points lead while Paul Norman Jr. is second in the standings with two wins.
The King of the Hill qualifying will replace heat races for this division and set the lineup for the feature event. Lakewood N.Y.'s Chad Carlson is the defending King of the Hill and is third in the standings.
Last week's rain caused the Lynn Seamen Super Late Model Memorial to be postponed until August 8 so this week's Super Late Model feature event will be a points race for the division. Warren's Chad Valone is the leader in the division over Panama N.Y,'s Rod Maloy. Scott Gurdak, Spring Creek, has the hot hand with back-to-back wins and is third in the standings.
There have been 58 different drivers to earn E-Mod points this season and Sherman N.Y.'s Justin Carlson has the points lead. Corry's Mike Munsee is second in the points followed by Ischua N.Y.'s Rich Michael Jr.
Stan Davis Jr. is the Spectator points leader for the second week in row with a 50-point advantage over veteran Mike Moon, Aaron Liberati, Jamestown, leads the Super Challengers and is the only racer in the top six of the division without a win and North East's Tabetha Houser continues atop the Lady Challengers points standings.
