Nicole Phillips of Warren has been accepted at Edinboro University for the fall term. She is the daughter of Ann and Jim Phillips. A graduate of Warren Area High School, she was a member of National Honor Society, Madrigals, A Cappella Choir, concert band, jazz band and soccer. She plans to major in psychology.

Joseph Pitner of Sugar Grove has been accepted at Edinboro University for the fall term. He is the son of Irwin and Barbara Pitner and is a graduate of Eisenhower High School. Pitner plans to major in sports administration.

Jane Larson, daughter of Rick and Dawn Larson of Warren, has enrolled for fall 2009 admission at Westminster College. Larson, a recipient of a Westminster College Tower Scholarship, will major in religious studies and psychology. She is a 2009 graduate of Warren Area High School.

Erik Larson, son of Rick and Dawn Larson, has been named to the dean's list for the last three quarters at Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology. A third-year student in RIT's School of Design, Larson is studying industrial design.

Jaimee Lynne Jordan, daughter of Toby and Becky Jordan of Lottsville, has been named to the dean's list for the spring term at Mercyhurst North East. To be selected, students must earn a grade average of 3.5 or better. Jordan, a 2008 graduate of Eisenhower High School, plans to major in accounting. She works full-time at Harborcreek Wal-Mart as a customer service manager.

Emily Belleau is enrolled in the Ph.D. program for clinical psychology at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She will work in the affective neuroscience lab under the advisement of Dr. Christine Larson. Belleau is a 2008 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, University Park. She has been working as a research assistant for UPMC. She is the daughter of Glenn and Mary Belleau of Warren.

Linda Betts of Warren has been named to the dean's list for the third quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A first-year student in RIT's School of Design, Betts is studying interior design. She is the daughter of Todd Betts and Susan Betts and is a 2008 graduate of Warren Area High School.

Sierra Chantel Hollabaugh, daughter of Melissa Hollabaugh of Youngsville and Scott Hollabaugh of Pittsfield, has been accepted to the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville (UPT) for the fall term 2009. Hollabaugh is a 2009 graduate of Tidioute Community Charter School. Her high school activities included student council (president), marching band (color guard section leader), drama club (student director), academic bowl, and serving as statistician for the varsity boys basketball team. She plans to begin her pre-professional studies in dentistry at UPT.

Heather Marie Whipple, the daughter of LaRue and Marie Whipple of Warren, graduated at the end of April magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a PharmD degree. Whipple graduated in 2003 from Warren Area High School. While attending the University of Pittsburgh, she was a member of the Pitt Marching Band. She has been offered a pharmacist position for Rite-Aid Pharmacy and will be residing in Pittsburgh.

Lauren Elizabeth Wood of Warren graduated from Gannon University on May 9 at the Erie Civic Center. Wood graduated from the School of Health Sciences with a bachelor of science degree. She earned summa cum laude honors with a four-year GPA of 3.95. She is currently enrolled in the graduate program at Gannon University seeking to earn a doctorate in physical therapy degree with an estimated final graduation date of spring 2011. She is a 2005 graduate of Warren Area High School and is the daughter of Paul A. and Joel G. Wood of Warren.

Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, awarded undergraduate summer research fellowships for summer 2009 to the following students.
Trevor Collins of Sugar Grove was awarded $1,200 to conduct an individual research project, titled "Examination of the Effects of Direct Current Assisted Die Forming on Magnesium." Collins, a junior mechanical engineering major, is working with Dr. John Roth, associate professor of me! chanical engineering.
Kolby McIntyre of Sugar Grove was awarded $1,200 to conduct an individual research project, titled "A Survey of Farm Management Techniques and the Potential for Control of Parasitic Nematodes in Horses." McIntyre, a sophomore biology major, is working with Dr. Margaret Voss, assistant professor of biology.

Cory Spice Holding has been awarded a fellowship by the P.E.O., a women's organization dedicated to the support of the education of women. The grant, totaling $15,000, is the top award given by the organization, and is intended to fund a dissertation research trip to London in 2009-2010, which will promote her progress toward a doctorate degree in rhetoric and composition from the University of Illinois.
Holding is a 1995 graduate of Warren Area High School, where she participated in tennis and marching band. She graduated with highest honors from Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in English, concentration in writing, publishing and editing in 2000; and with a master of fine arts degree in fiction writing in 2004. She passed with distinction doctoral exams at the University of Illinois in December 2008, and her dissertation centers on 18th century British rhetoric. She is the daughter of Donna and Jim Holding of Warren.

Price is a first-year student biology major in the College of Arts & Sciences.
