Tidioute Bucktails will hold a meeting on Sunday, July 12 at their clubhouse on McCauley Hill.
The meeting will start at 7 p.m. and all officers and club members are urged to attend.
Allegheny River
Raft Race
Anything That Floats Raft Race is set for this Saturday, July 11 and starts at 11 a.m. at the Wildwood Inn and ends at the Tidioute Boat Launch.
There is a $5 entry fee and the theme this year is, "Christmas In July"
Door prizes and Trophies will be awarded at the Tidioute Boat Launch immediately following the race.
Prizes will be for the First, Second and Third Place, the raft will most riders, the raft which riders traveled the furthest distance for the race, oldest and youngest riders.
This event is sponsored by the VFW Post 8803 Ladies Auxiliary.

Festival Results
There was a lot of celebrating in Tidioute over the past weekend.
Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament grounds were a buzz with three Alpacas from the Bully Hollow Alpaca Farm owned by Walt and Monica Snavley of Tidioute. Rope spinners and bull whip cracking, vendors and the Tidioute United Methodist Church had their Funnel Cake Booth open and sold lots of funnel cakes and hot sausages.
Kaleb Pike and Joshua Snyder, both from the State of Indiana, were on hand to do some rope spinning and were representing the Miracle Mountain Ranch in Spring Creek. Later they participated in the parade.
The Seneca Nation Indian dancers were on the Fishing Tournament grounds doing some of their dances for the crowd that gathered.
The Pat Slike family drove their 1931 Model A Ford antique car through the parade and Deke Showman played the bagpipes through the parade route.
Air Force Staff Sgt. Kacey-Jo L. Hyde participated in the parade and handed out lanyards along the route.
Horse riders Danielle King, Diane Faler and Matt Joseph followed the other participants in the parade.
The parade was led by Tidioute Chief of Police Steve Vincent.
Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Police provided traffic control.
Festival Drawing
Winners
Tidioute Western Festival Drawing was held on Saturday, July 4 and the winners were: First place of $500 went to Bill McCall, Second Place of $300 went to Ardath Knight of Tidioute and Third Place winner of $200 was Denise Lubold of Tidioute.
Relay For Life
Members of the Catholic Community are invited to join others in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life on July 10 and 11 from 1 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tionesta ball field.
Please contact Larry and Kathy Licht, co-captains at 814-827-3910 to sign up and represent their team, as the Catholic Team is looking for a few "Saints" to walk in the annual event.
Retreat For Women
A Retreat for all Women will be held at St. Anthony Church on Thursday, July 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with lunch being provided.
The topics that will be discussed at the Retreat are: the role women play in the church; how to work together for the glory of God; and how our prayers at Mass effect our daily lives.
Nunsense
Would you like to see the musical "Nunsence"?
Then please give Judy Sabella a call at 484-3085 as a group is getting together to carpool for the Thursday, September 10 performance at the Cook Forest Sawmill Center for the Arts.
Show time is at 8 p.m. and there will be stop for dinner before the show. Tickets are going fast so make that phone call soon.
Grill Winner
Winner of the propane grill raffled off at the Tidioute Senior Center was D. Schreckengost of Erie.
Knit One Purl One
There have been 13 lap robes completed by the Knit One Purl One group.
Much thanks to Bob Fath who donated the yarn in memory of his wife Kay.
These lap robes will be used as bingo prizes at the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Erie when the Ladies Auxiliary 8803 will be sponsoring BBQ at the home in August.
These lap robes will also be given as prizes in October when the Veterans come to Tidioute.
The group of volunteers who are knitting are Peggy, Kathy, Bonnie, Daisy, Desiree, Mona, Shelly, Velma, Helen, Mary and Fran.
More lap robes will be finished very soon.
K-4 Program
Tidioute Community Charter School will hold a K-4 program starting this year for those who are the age of four.
Children will be attending school all day and transportation will be provided to and from school.
Those wishing to register their children can call the school at 484-3550 and must do so soon as school will begin on Monday, Aug. 24.
Please remember that the children must be the age of four on or before August 24, 2009.
Rummage Sale
Tidioute First United Methodist Church is holding its rummage sale on Thursday, July 9; Friday, July 10; and Saturday., July 11 at the church from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m.
All proceeds benefit the United Methodist Church of Tidioute.
VBS
Vacation Bible School is almost here again.
This year it is hosted by St. John Catholic Church and is open to all the children in the community no matter where or if they worship.
United Methodist Church members and Presbyterian Church members will be assisting in the teachings and craft projects that the children will be working on.
Once again this is open to all the children of the community in August.
Flea Market
This Saturday, July 11 there will be another flea market held on Pennsylvania State Fishing Tournament Grounds from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Anyone wishing to set up tables can contact Russell "Butch" Glenn at 484-3822 for a spot.
Cost per table spot is $10 and you need to bring your own tables.
Golf Scramble
Sign up sheets for the Annual Golf Scramble held by the Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department are located at he VFW Post 8803, Tippy Canoe Inn and at River Ridge Golf Course.
This will be held on Saturday, July 25.

Hot Dog Stand
The Tidioute Community Charter School Class of 2011 will have a hot dog sStand at the Tidioute Boat Launch during the Raft Races on Saturday, July 11.
They will also have baked goods and bottled water.

WW II Re-enactment
Just one month from now there will be a WW II Battle Re-enactment held on Saturday, July 8 at 3 p.m.
This will take place along the Allegheny River at Tidioute and Limestone Township.
Come and see the Battle of the Bridge at Remagen.
The German Ludendorff Bridge was the only bridge across the Rhine River that was captured by American Force during WW II.
Watch as U.S. soldiers drive the German Army back across the bridge. Watch as the bridge is blown up with pyrotechnics provided by Cartwright Fireworks. And finally the capture of the bridge and the defeat of the German Forces.
The event is hosted by the 99th Infantry Division 393rd Regiment, Easy Co. Re-enactment Group (Battlebabies), Tidioute Borough and Limestone Township sponsored Cartwright Fireworks.
Camp ground is located on Rt. 62 just South of the Tidioute Bridge.
On display will be authentic WW II American and German Uniforms, equipment and vehicles.
