WILLIAM ANDERSON

William James Anderson Sr., 71, of 221 Pickering Street, Sheffield, Pa, and formerly of Brooksville, Fla. and Clarendon, Pa., passed on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at his daughter's residence.

Mr. Anderson was born August 11, 1937, in Warren, the son of the late Melvin W. and Mary K. Giltinan Anderson. He was a 1956 graduate of Warren High School and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Beale and the USS Morton. He was employed at Corning Glass for a short time after the military. He then was employed at Osram as an electrician for many years, retiring in 1996.

He was a member of the St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, Sheffield. He was also the former owner of a CB Radio Repair shop and was a self taught computer programmer. He enjoyed making web pages on herbs and family history. His web site can be viewed at www.geocities.com/old_bill_61.

He is survived by two daughters, Mary Thomas and her husband Todd, Sheffield, and Virginia Madigan and her husband Stan, Clarendon; a son, William Anderson Jr., Lakewood, N.Y.; three sisters, Mary Lou Trusso and her husband Matthew, Northport, Fla., Anna Marie Young, Tiona, Pa., and Rita Goger and her husband Daniel, Sutton, W.V.; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Brandon, Morgan and Todd Thomas, and Thomas, Joshua, and Jaimie Madigan; a greatgrandchild, Hayden Kasaback; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria Jean Cook Anderson, his second wife, Romaine Ford Anderson, his third wife, Sue Starcher Anderson; a brother, Melvin R. Anderson; and a sister, Carol Lorraine Samuelson.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held at the St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, Sheffield, Pa., on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Father James Faluszczak, celebrant, St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, officiating.

Internment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery.

The PetersonBlick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna. Ave. E., Warren, Pa. is in charge of arrangements.
