Warren

Accident. Warren City police responded at 1:30 a.m. Sunday on a report of a car over the bank on Rt. 6 near Ludlow St. According to police, the car belonging to Benjamin English, 27, of Biddle St. was left at the bank facing the Super 8 Motel. Police said English was traveling west on Rt. 6 at a high rate of speed, when he lost control of his vehicle and skidded across both lanes sideways before coming to rest over the bank. According to police, English later admitted that he had been drinking and he believed that he passed out at the time of the accident. Police said he will be cited for careless driving.

Accident. Warren City police reported a hit and run collision involving a bicycle and a vehicle at 12:20 p.m. Saturday near 1200 Pennsylvania Ave. E. According to police, David Lodbell, 27, of 28 Walnut St. was riding his bicycle past the driveway when an unknown driver of a white Ford Taurus or Concord hit the side of his bicycle, causing extensive damage to it. Police said the driver was described as an elderly woman with white hair. No injuries were reported.

Public drunkenness. Warren City police reported Laurie Morley, 47, 16 Sunset Trailer Ct. was taken into custody at 2:25 a.m. Monday after she was hitchhiking at the intersection of Market Street and Seventh Avenue and was found to be intoxicated. Morley was issued a citation when released, police said.

Columbus Twp.

Theft. According to Corry-based state police, between 10:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 p.m. Monday someone stole two white ceramic decorative lions that were approximately four feet tall from the end of the Rt. 957 driveway of Paula Jean Alvarez, 49, of Columbus. Anyone with information is asked to contact Corry-based state police at 663-2043.

Conewango Twp.

Crash. According to Warren-based state police, at 6:40 a.m. Monday Rodney Rowland, 30, of Youngsville was traveling east on Rt. 6, just east of Yankee Bush Road, when he fell asleep at the wheel. His vehicle crossed the center line into the westbound lanes, crossing both. Rowland traveled off the westbound berm approximately 90 feet, struck a guide rail, continued to travel approximately 35 feet and struck a wooden sign belonging to Brookside Restaurant, police said. According to police, Rowland traveled approximately 65 feet through a creek where his vehicle came to rest facing east. Rowland, who suffered minor injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, police said. Rowland was charged with careless driving, police said. Youngsville volunteer firefighters assisted at the scene.

Glade Twp.

Harassment. According to Warren-based state police, at 12:05 p.m. Monday on Page Hollow Road Devon Moore, 40, of Warren made threats against a 39-year-old female of Warren and made physical contact causing injury. Moore was arraigned in front of District Magistrate Laura Bauer and placed in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail, police said.

Pine Grove Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a crash at 3:15 p.m. Monday on Rt. 62 just south of Maplewood Drive. According to police, Thomas Byler, 18, of Russell was slowing to come to a stop at the end of a line traffic stopped by an individual in a construction zone when his vehicle's brakes failed. Byler steered to the right and drove down the berm, passed all of the stopped cars, hit a mailbox, small tree and came to a stop when his vehicle hit a utility pole with the front end, police said. According to police, Byler and his passenger, Johnna Blair, 19, of Russell were both wearing seatbelts. No injuries were reported, police said.

Spring Creek Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a crash at 6:10 p.m. last Friday as a male driver was traveling south on Piccadilly Hill Road and negotiating a curve to the right. According to police, on the curve, the vehicle crossed the double yellow center line and sideswiped a northbound vehicle driven by Jeffery Adams, 34, of Tidioute. The unidentified vehicle continued south and left the scene without stopping to exchange information, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Warren-based state police at 728-3600.

Sugar Grove Twp.

DUI. According to Warren-based state police, at 2:20 a.m. Saturday Robert Sanders, 26, of Sugar Grove was stopped for committing traffic violations and found to be under the influence of alcohol. A breath test at the police station showed Sanders' blood alcohol content to be well above the legal limit, police said. According to police, Sanders was charged with DUI incapable of safe operation, DUI high rate of alcohol and other summary traffic violations.
