Alison Ann Williams and Saleem Mukhtar were married at St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York, N.Y., on Oct. 11, 2008. Msgr. Robert Ritchie performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Patrick and Antonia Williams of Warren. The groom is the son of Khalid and Parveen Mukhtar of Aligarh, India.

Matron of honor was bride's twin sister, Katherine Cannon of Hyde Park, Vt. Bridesmaids were Arianna Graziano of London, England; Shannon O'Shea, New York, N.Y.; Amanda Schirmacher, Chicago, Ill.; and Carla Williams, New Castle, Delaware. Flower girls were Kaia Cannon and Ellen and Elaina Williams, bride's nieces.

Best man was Kashif Alvi, New York, N.Y. Groomsmen were Brian Hutsell, Taipei, Taiwan; Salman Mikhtar of Pittsburgh; Todd Sedano, San Diego, Calif.; and Patrick T. Williams, New Castle, Delaware, bride's brother. Ringbearer was Micah Cannon, bride's Godchild. Usher was 4Cpl Brennen Williams of Jacksonville, N.C., bride's brother.

The bride graduated from Warren Area High School and earned a bachelor of arts degree from Denison University and a master's degree in international conflict analysis from the University of Kent, and Canterbury, England. She is a personal assistant to the deputy director of the United Nations Development Program Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery in New York City.

The groom graduated from Carnegie Mellon University and received his doctorate in computation and neural systems from California Institute of Technology. He is employed with RGM Advisors, Inc., Austin, Texas.

A reception followed the Mass and wedding ceremony at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York. A bridal shower was hosted at the Russian Tea Room in New York.
