Christopher Andrews graduated Dec. 19, 2008, from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Ky., with a bachelor of arts degree in education, major in kinesiology, option exercise science. Graduating with an overall grade average of 3.372, he was named to the dean's list three times. Andrews also took and passed the national strength and conditioning exam, earning him the title of Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He accepted a position at the North Lexington Family YMCA in Lexington, where he resides. Andrews is a 2004 graduate of Warren Area High School and is the son of Jodee Andrews and Bill Andrews of Warren.

Savannah M. Kiser of Warren was recognized at Wittenberg University's annual honors convocation and was inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. Alpha Lambda Delta is a national honor society that seeks to recognize and encourage scholarship among first-year college women. Selection is based entirely on achieving a 3.5 cumulative grade point average for fall semester of their first year.

Alicia Wismar, a senior accounting-financial major, received special awards and recognition at Lycoming College's 2009 Honors Convocation held Sunday, April 19, in Williamsport. Wismar received The James E. Wehr Financial Accounting Award given to a student who has demonstrated a personal expertise in the subject of financial accounting. A resident of Columbus, Wismar is a graduate of Youngsville Middle/Senior High School.

Gregory W. Weidert, son of Jan Weidert of Warren and the late Randall Weidert, was honored during a ceremony at St. Bonaventure University on May 16. A business and information systems major, Weidert received the Award for Overall Excellence in Business Information Systems and an honorable mention for the Wall Street Journal Award.

Kiley Fischer, a 2008 graduate of Youngsville High School, was recently inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta honor society at Seton Hill University. Alpha Lambda Delta is an honor society for students who have maintained a 3.5 or higher grade average during their first year of higher education. The mission of Alpha Lambda Delta is to encourage superior academic achievement, to promote intelligent living and a high standard of learning, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals in society. Seton Hill has had an Alpha Lambda Delta chapter for the past 72 years.

This spring, Brendan Bovard graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering with a concentration in construction management. Bovard is the son of Robert and Eileen Bovard of Warren and a 2004 graduate of Warren Area High School. He is employed by an engineering/construction firm and will reside in Pittsburgh. He also was named to the dean's list this semester at the University of Pittsburgh.
