A report on the Warren County Commissioners' meeting in Tuesday's Times Observer indicated that a grant was being sought in order to restore two positions - assistant district attorney and county detective - to the district attorney's office. However, District Attorney Ross McKiernan said Tuesday that while elimination of the positions had been threatened, no such action ever occurred. McKiernan said he took a pay cut to keep the two positions filled; securing the grant would cover those two salaries.
